Over the past ten weeks, the European Union (EU) has provided Ukraine with material support in the amount of 4 billion euros (about $ 4.24 billion), said the European Commission Chairman Ursula von Der Layen during a congress dedicated to the future united Europe, which was organized by the Frankfurter AllGemeine publication Zeitung.
The head of the European Commission emphasized that the Ukrainian conflict is “more than a stress test” for the EU economy. According to her, Kyiv “protects Ukrainian values.” At the same time, von der Lyayen noted that the European Union will also resort to sanctions in order to deprive Russia of revenue sources and “increase the price” for everything that happens since February 24.
Earlier, Ursula von der Layen said that the European Union will allocate an additional 200 million euros for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
