European Union Freezes Tariffs Against United States For 90 Days

The European Union will freeze for 90 days the introduction of response duties on goods from the United States. This was stated by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Layen in his account on the social network x.

According to her, in Brussels, they “took note” of the corresponding statement by US President Donald Trump and want to “negotiate a chance.”

Earlier, US President Donald Trump decided to postpone the establishment of high tariffs for European goods.

“We continue to finalize our response measures that have received firm support of the EU member states, but we freeze them for 90 days. If negotiations do not bring a satisfactory result, the duties will be introduced,” wrote von der Lyayen.

The EU member countries on the eve of approved 25 percent duties on a wide range of American goods in response to 25 percent fees introduced by the United States.
