The European Commission transferred the EU participating in the EU projects of the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, the European Commission representative Eric Mamer.
“I can confirm that the proposals of the European Commission for the 11th package of sanctions were transferred to the EU member states. This happened on Friday,” Mamer said at a briefing in Brussels.
However, he refused to give the details of the sanctions developed. The representative of the European Commission said that the new package applies primarily to tightening the supervision of the execution of already adopted restrictions.
The European Union wants to prevent Russia from importing goods from other countries that have fallen under sanctions, he said.
The new package of sanctions will be discussed at the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member countries under the EU Council (Coreper) on Wednesday, May 10, Mamer said.
According to European media, the next package of sanctions includes seven Chinese companies the basis for the supply of equipment to Russia, which can be used for military purposes.
At the moment, 10 packages of sanctions imposed by the EU are in force in relation to the Russian Federation. A wide range of restrictions on trade, finance, energy, including oil and coal, industry, technology, transport, dual -purpose goods and luxury goods, as well as gold, has been applied to Russia. Assets of more than a thousand people and almost 200 institutions are frozen.
