The European Union in an accelerated mode is working on the ninth package of sanctions against Russia because of the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference in Finland, which was broadcast by the press service of the EC.
“I can announce today that we are working at full speed on the ninth package of sanctions,” she said.
According to Ursula von der Lyain, the European Union plans to weaken the Russian economy even more.
The European Union has already introduced eight packages of sanctions against Russia since February 2022, when Moscow started a war in Ukraine. The last package of sanctions was approved in early October.
