EU during the month plans to resume the work of his diplomatic mission in Kabul, reports Financial Times.
It is noted that the renewal of the work of Kabul diplomsses is necessary to improve efficiency in the provision of humanitarian aid and evacuation. However, the stumbling block was the question of the protection of representation. The EU insists on the transfer of this function to private security companies or contingents of member countries. The Taliban, in turn, fundamentally refuse to the presence of a foreign contingent, promising to allocate reliable protection from among their militants.
In the meantime, the EU stressed that the presence of the diplomission does not mean the recognition of the government of the Taliban.
