European Union this week will allocate € 9 billion to Ukraine

In the coming days, the European Union (EU) will finally determine the details of the financial package for Ukraine in the amount of € 9 billion, Bloomberg reports with reference to three European officials. The fact that the EU will allocate a loan in the amount of € 9 billion until the end of 2022, previously stated by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Layen.

The Agency reports that the new package of Kyiv will consist of “25-year loans with a 10-year preferential period to reimburse the principal amount of debt.” Sources say that interest payments will be covered from the EU budget.

Bloomberg writes that EU leaders should meet June 23 and 24, in Brussels. At the meeting, it is planned to discuss the plan for the restoration of Ukraine and its application for joining the Union.
