European Union wants to deepen cooperation with Turkey

EU is ready to gradually deepen cooperation with Turkey in many areas of common interest. This is stated in terms of the Declaration of the Community Leaders Summit, dedicated to the relations of Brussels with Ankara, reports Anadolu.

According to the communiqué, at the summit of the European Union leaders of the head of state and government of the block member countries, they asked the European Commission to immediately provide an official proposal regarding the allocation of funds to support Syrian refugees who found shelter in Turkey and other countries of the region.

Declaration is welcome to reduce tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean. Community leaders expressed hope that this trend will continue to continue.

According to the statement, the EU leaders gave the start of technical work aimed at updating the EU-Turkey Customs Union. The declaration emphasizes the need to eliminate the problems arising from the implementation of the existing Customs Union.

EU leaders also declared preparation for dialogue at a high level with Turkey on migration, health care, climate, combating terrorism and regional issues.

The European Council expects, in order to strengthen the regional world and stability, Turkey and all authors will make a positive contribution to the settlement of regional crises in accordance with the common interests of Turkey and the EU, “the statement says.
