Lithuanian border with Belorussia, which is simultaneously the outer boundary of the European Union, will be protected by a wall with a height of four meters with a barbed wire of a special profile on top. “The border section with a length of 508 km is planned to close the four-meter wall made of metal welded rod mesh, on top of which concert will be stretched,” he said. The total length of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border is about 680 km.
According to preliminary estimates of the border agency, a conceived engineering structure will cost € 152.5 million “Depending on financing, construction work can last from year to two years,” said Majetis.
