The evacuation of civilians of the Kherson region, which suffered from the flood after the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in Ukraine, continued on June 15.
Against the backdrop of the destruction of the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station on June 6, many settlements of the Kherson region of Ukraine were under water.
During the evacuation, begun in the first days after what happened, in small groups, the injured from the flood is delivered to Kherson in boats and vehicles. Some of the arrivals are located in Kherson, and part is delivered to Nikolaev and Odessa by trains and buses.
In an interview with Anadol, the inhabitants of the village of Alyoshka shared their experiences after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
So, one of the evacuated residents of Alyoshki Olga (she refused to name the surname – approx. Anadol) said that she had been waiting for salvation with her husband for several days. “We are still in shock. No one thought that everything was so serious. We did not know that the water level would rise so much, but the situation developed according to the very catastrophic scenario. We were under water,” Olga said.
According to the Ukrainian, her and her wife was saved by volunteers. “Our hope for salvation was melting every day. There was only water around us, we waited days for water without water and bread. In the end, we survived, and I am glad about this,” Olga noted.
Ukrainian said that her village was on the left bank of the Dnieper under the control of the Russian army. “The so -called evacuation began on the Russian side, people were gathered and forced to wait. It was said, wait, we will save, but no one came. Help came from ours,” Olga said.
Ukrainian noted that now she is in complete confusion and does not know what to do next. “I don’t even want to think about what happened to us. We lived in Alyoshka for 15 years. We had a house, a boat, a car. We lost everything in a moment. All these years we were erased in an instant. We no longer have the opportunity Return to our village. So we are going to start our life from scratch, ”Olga continued.
