The former captain of the Russian national football team and the Zenit, Dynamo, Anjam and Lokomotiv football player Igor Denisov called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war in Ukraine. Denisov admitted that he even recorded a video message to the President of Russia, in which he was ready to kneel, if only the head of the Russian state revoked the troops and stopped the war.
The athlete admitted that he was discouraged by the behavior of journalists who did not post his appeals. Denisov also admitted that he was scared to upload and record a video message with an anti -war call, but he “cannot be silent.”
Commenting on the events of February 24, Denisov admitted that he was in a total shock from what happened, he could not eat normally and sleep. “I am a very susceptible person … I can’t kill the fly, so to speak. But for me these events are a catastrophe. Complete horror. I don’t know, maybe they will put me or kill me for these words, but I speak as it is.” – said the ex -captain.
