It is necessary to increase gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe, the ex-Chancell of Germany Gerhard Schroeder said at the Energy Summit in Antalya.
Schroeder noted that there is an agreement to increase the throughput of the southern gas corridor to about 31 billion cubic meters in the long run, but these investments require the will and efforts of all interested parties.
“Since 2020, a lot of work was done to deliver natural gas to Europe from Azerbaijan. The increase in the throughput of the pipeline is of great importance for strengthening the role of Turkey as an energy unit,” he said.
