Ex-head of General Staff of USSR died, at which tragedy occurred on January 20

The former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR, Army General Mikhail Moiseev died at 84 years of life, according to the website of the Club of Military Resources of Russia.

Note that Moiseev was the head of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces, when on January 20, 1990, Soviet troops committed mass killings of the civilian population in Baku. He was appointed to this position on December 14, 1988 and held it until August 22, 1991. On August 23, 1991, he was appointed Minister of Defense of the USSR.
