The surrender of Kherson by the Russian troops, about which the command announced on Wednesday, is not the last in the chain of defeats, which will ultimately lead to Russia’s loss of Crimea. This opinion was expressed by the former commander of the US troops in Europe, retired General Ben Hodges.
“I predict that the next battle, lost by Putin, will be the battle for Crimea,” Rodges wrote on Twitter.
The decisive stage of the military campaign, which will affect the peninsula, according to him, will take place in the summer of 2023.
The problem of the regular Russian army, according to the words of Hodges, is the mass reluctance of people to fight. “500 thousand male recruiting age escaped from the country to avoid mobilization,” he notes.
