Ex-Minister of Defense Armenia appointed ambassador in Russia

Former Armenian Defense Minister Vagarshak Arutyunyan appointed the ambassador of this country in Russia, Interfax reports with reference to the Armenian media.

64-year-old Vagarshak Harutyunyan was released from the post of Head of the Armenian Ministry of Defense on July 20 by decree of the President of the country. Head of the Ministry of Defense was appointed on November 2020. In different years, he held the posts of Deputy Interior Deputy Internal Affairs of Armenia, Deputy Commission of the Secondary Armed Forces of the CIS countries, Deputy Head of the Coordination Staff of the Military Cooperation of the CIS countries, the Minister of Defense of Armenia. After the conflict with the President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, due to the terrorist attack in Parliament on September 27, 1999, Harutyunyan was lowered in the rank, and then fired from the post of Minister.
