Ex-Minister of Security of Mexico is found guilty of drug trafficking in United States

The jury in the USA in the USA was recognized by the ex-Minister of Public Security of Mexico, Henaro Luna, guilty of five points of prosecution.

According to her, three accusations relate to drug smuggling, and the rest – participation in organized criminal activity and giving false testimony.

It is expected that the verdict against the former head of the power department will be issued in early June of this year.

The moon was headed by the Ministry of Public Security under President Felipe Calderon, who led Mexico from 2006 to 2012. In early December 2019, he was arrested in Texas. The ex-Minister, who does not plead guilty, first appeared in court in Brooklyn in mid-December 2021.

Mexican authorities suspect the moon of a criminal conspiracy for smuggling cocaine, giving false testimony, corruption, participation in organized criminal activity and other socially dangerous acts. In December 2020, they sent a request for its extradition to the State Department.
