The Constitutional Court of South Africa recognized the former President Jacob Zuyu guilty of disrespect for the court and awarded him 15 months of imprisonment, the South African portal IOL.
It happened after the Zuma did not appear at a meeting of the Special Commission on Corruption, which was against him. The judge found that the ex-president deliberately ignored the agenda, realizing all the consequences of his actions.
Court agreed that a simple order to appear at the meeting will not be effective. Zuma must come to the police for five days and start serving the sentence.
Previously, the former president accused the commission that investigates his business, in bias and pursuit of political reasons.
