Azercell Telecom LLC continues to expand its network by introducing advanced technologies.
Azercell, which began to implement a large -scale project to modernize and expand the network as part of its strategic goal, “we simplify access, we expand the possibilities!” In August last year, carried out a number of important works in this direction. The leading mobile operator deployed in test mode the first 5G network in Azerbaijan, providing subscribers with the opportunity to test this technology on the territory of the fountains. At the same time, in just 5 months, Azercell installed more than 100 new 4G base stations and modernized more than 1050 base stations. In addition to Baku and Absheron, the new basic stations were commissioned in the Geychaysk, Astarinsky, Agdash, Hussars, Yardmlinsky, Kurdamirskaya, Ismailinsky, Shekinsky, Shabran and Gabalinsky zones.
In 2022, the leading mobile operator managed to increase the coverage of the LTE network by 6%. As a result of the measures taken, there was an increase in Internet traffic by 40%.
Azercell continued to expand its network in the liberated territories using the most modern technologies. In order to protect the environment, the company began to use “green” technologies in Karabakh. So, the mobile operator has already commissioned the base stations operating on solar energy to the Gubadly and Dzhebrail and plans to increase their number to 35.

Currently, about 100 Azercell basic stations in Karabakh are covered with their network Shushinsky, Agdam, Fizulinsky, Dzhebrail, Zangilan, Gubadlinsky and Kelbadzharsky districts, the villages of Obis, Hadrut, Sugovushan, as well as the villages of Khojavevent and other areas. In the Lachinsky district alone, the mobile operator installed more than 10 base stations, which allowed to provide mobile services in the villages of Zabukh, SUS and others.
Note that Azercell, aimed at providing its subscribers with the best client experience, will deploy more than 300 new base stations in Azerbaijan as part of the project to modernize and expand its network and improve about 1,600 existing stations.
