Export of cars from Turkey in the first half of the current year increased by 18.78 percent – to 5 billion 451 million 993 thousand dollars.
Such data are given by Anadolu with reference to the Association of Exporters of the Automobile Industry Uludag (OIB).
Turkey in January-June 2023 exported cars to 103 countries, autonomous regions and free economic zones.
The volume of Turkish exports of the automotive industry in the period under consideration amounted to 17 billion 336 million 757 thousand dollars. At the same time, there are 31.4 percent of the total exports of the country’s car industry.
The export volume of cars from Turkey in January-June 2022 amounted to 4 billion 590 million 2 thousand dollars.
The main importer of cars from Turkey was France, which is the second leading market for Turkey in the automobile sector.
In the first half of the year, export to this country increased by 58.19 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, from 659 million 227 thousand dollars to 1 billion 42 million 799 thousand dollars.
Export of Turkish cars in France, Spain and Great Britain in January-June of this year amounted to 40 percent of the total sales of these products.
Eight of 10 leading markets for cars from Turkey, were the countries of the European Union.
In addition, there is an increase in sales of cars of Turkish production into a number of countries. So a significant increase in sales of the Turkish automobile sector in the first six months of the year was observed in Kazakhstan. Export to this country increased from 10 million 174 thousand dollars to 68 million 294 thousand dollars. Turkish export of cars to Georgia increased by 112 percent from 9 million 590 thousand dollars to 20 million 326 thousand dollars.
