The export volume of fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey in the first half of 2023 increased by 17 percent compared to the same period of 2022 – up to $ 1 billion 69 million.
This was announced by the head of the Association of Exporters of fresh fruits and vegetables Ferhat Guryuz.
According to him, for six months, 2 million 277 thousand tons of fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey were received in world markets.
The main part of the Turkish exports of this sector was tomato, mandarin and pepper.
The volume of tomato exports over the specified period increased by 32 percent, to 326 million dollars, tangerines – 35 percent, up to $ 228.4 million and pepper – by 51 percent, up to 180.2 million dollars.
The main importer of fresh vegetables and fruits from Turkey continues to be Russia.
The top 3 importers in the first half of the year also included Romania and Germany.
