The export of the Turkish sector of the textile industry in January -March of this year reached $ 2 billion 441 million.
According to the Council of Exporters of Turkey (TİM), the volume of domestic exports in March of this year increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same month of 2022 – to $ 23.6 billion, thus reaching the highest export indicators in monthly measurement.
At the same time, the volume of Turkish exports as a whole in January -March 2023 increased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period last year – up to $ 61.6 billion. And the annual volume of exports reached $ 255.7 billion.
The export of the Turkish sector of the textile industry in March 2022 amounted to $ 951 million, while in the same period of the current year it decreased by 5 percent – to $ 903 million.
Italy was the leading importer of the Turkish sector of the textile industry in March with $ 76 million. This is followed by Belarus – $ 62 million and the USA – $ 41 million.
The volume of sector sales in Italy in January of this year amounted to $ 213 million, Belarus – $ 170 million and the USA – $ 108 million.
Considering the sales of the sector in groups of countries, the European Union took the leading position. The volume of export of textile goods to the EU countries in March amounted to $ 348 million, the Commonwealth of Independent States – $ 167 million and African countries – $ 106 million.
In the first 3 months of the current year, goods were exported to $ 940 million in the EU countries, $ 460 million and Africa countries – $ 286 million to the Commonwealth countries of independent states.
