The export of the Turkish auto industry in 2024 increased by 6.3 percent compared to a year earlier – up to 37 billion 212 million dollars. Such data are given by the Association of Exporters of the Automobile Industry Uludag (Oİb).
The share of the car industry in the general export basket of Turkey was 17.3 percent. The automotive industry of Turkey is the locomotive of the export sector. The industries managed to become the leader in export in the country for the 18th time over the past 19 years.
Last year, export to Germany, the largest automobile market, amounted to 4 billion 856 million dollars. The export of automotive industry from Turkey to the UK increased by 25 percent, to Italy by 9.5 percent, in Slovenia – by 33 percent, in the USA – by 19 percent, in Romania – by 33.5 percent.
The export of the Turkish auto industry to the EU countries amounted to $ 25.3 billion or 68.2 percent of total exports.
to other European countries, the export of the Turkish auto industry last year increased by 25 percent, the North American free trade zone – by 17 percent, to Oceania – by 55 percent.
The head of the Oİb board, Baran Chelik said that 2024 was not easy in terms of economics around the world, a reduction in demand was observed in the global markets.
“Despite this, the auto industry managed to maintain export leadership in 2024. In the last month of last year, we recorded a 19 percent growth in the export of cars and trucks,” he added.
