The total volume of Turkish exports of machines and equipment in January-November of this year amounted to $ 25.8 billion, including the free economic zones of Turkey. This is stated in the message of the Association of Exporters of Machines and Equipment (MAİB) of Turkey.
According to MAİB, the export of engineering products for 11 months of this year remained unchanged compared to the same period of 2023, amounting to $ 25.8 billion. The export of the sector decreased in the tonnage indicators, while the average export prices per kilogram showed growth.
The export of engineering products in November of this year decreased by 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to $ 2.3 billion.
The head of the Mai̇b Kutlu Karavelioglu, whose assessment is given in the message, drew attention to the conflicts and uncertainty that exist on the world stage, and also affected the possible problems that may be caused by the policy of the elected US President Donald Trump.
“Political uncertainty in Germany and France negatively affects industry. We expect that the weakening of the euro will continue for some more,” he said.
At the same time, the head of Mai̇b noted that the events that occurred in Syria will have a positive impact on the Turkish engineering sector, which developed significantly, especially after the earthquake.
“Syria, which currently carries out two -thirds of its foreign trade with Turkey, will become for our competitors the same important buyer as Iraq and Russia. It is necessary to develop methods for realizing the natural superiority of Turkish engineering and in neighboring geographical regions,” said He.
