Eastfruit analysts indicate a decrease in quince supplies from Azerbaijan to Russia. Although how Russian government sources notes in Russia continues the growth trend in demand for quince.
In 2021, Ivy’s imports to Russia rose at once by 36%, continuing the tendency of 2020. The main supplier of quince to the Russian market remains Turkey, which accounts for more than 80% of all supplies. For the year, Turkey was able to increase the export of quince to Russia by more than 60%. Azerbaijan remains in second place, which felt suppliers from Uzbekistan. Exports of quince from Uzbekistan to Russia grew by 20% compared with 2021.
Retail prices for Quince in Russia vary in a wide range – from 100 to 300 or more rubles per kg ($ 1.3-3.8 per kg). At the same time, there are quite a few Russian-made quince, which is cheaper than the imported product from Azerbaijan. Russian sources do not explain the reasons for the reduction of quince exports from Azerbaijan to Russia.
