The expansion of cooperation between the Food Security Agency of Azerbaijan (APB) and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor), the presence of a constructive dialogue in solving issues of bilateral trade and confidence in the system of phytosanitary surveillance of Azerbaijan gives their positive results.
The press service of the APB HAQQIN.AZ said that on June 11 last year, a permit was received for the transportation of tomatoes and apples by rail to April 1, 2022 as a result of negotiations. On February 14 of this year, negotiations took place between the chairman of the apb Goshkar Tahmazli and the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dunkvert in connection with the extension of the term taking into account the existing infrastructure in this area.
Negotiations held, as well as recently, the state control over the exported from Azerbaijan products were highly appreciated by the Russian department, and on the extension of the permission to transport apples and tomatoes on the railway until January 1, 2023 a positive solution was made.
According to the requirements of the Federal Service for the Russian Federation on veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance, the importation of agricultural products into this country is allowed only in containers that meet international requirements.
Currently, the export potential of 227 exporting enterprises of tomatoes, which is allowed by the export of tomatoes from Azerbaijan to Russia, is 385,460 tons. Export potential of 77 enterprises that are allowed to export apples is 186,948 tons.
