External Debt Of Russian Federation As Of January 1, 2025 Amounted To $ 290.4 Billion

Russia’s external debt as of January 1, 2025 amounted to $ 290.4 billion, which is 8.7% (or $ 27.5 billion) below the indicator at the beginning of 2024. This was reported by Russian media with reference to the materials of the Bank of Russia.

“The dynamics of the indicator was determined by the reduction in debt on sovereign securities nominated in both national and foreign currencies, as well as a decrease in the obligations of other sectors on loans and loans attracted, including within the framework of direct investment relations,” noted in the framework Central Bank.

Earlier, in October 2024, the Bank of Russia noted that the external debt of the Russian Federation since the beginning of the year has decreased by 7.7 percent and amounted to $ 293.4 billion as of October 1.
