In Tbilisi on Friday evening, the famous Georgian businessman Levan Kacharava was shot down, the Rustavi-2 television company reports.
The Georgian television channel Mtavari Arders reports that the businessman was shot in his car, about 20 bullets were allegedly released in him.
According to the channel, a criminal case has been instituted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia under Articles 108 and 236 (intentional killing and illegal acquisition-maintenance of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Kacharava is one of the founders of the Silk Road Group investment company, which owns the Silknet telecommunications company (the largest fixed communication, cable television, broadband access and IPTV), as well as the Georgian Mobile Communications Provider. He founded the Multiplex Logistics Solutions BV holding company in Holland. According to media reports, in Georgia he owned a fitness network, his companies participated in many projects throughout the country.
