Germany’s authorities can confiscate Luna’s super -youth worth $ 360 million, which belongs to Farhad Akhmedov, a Russian businessman of Azerbaijani origin. Currently, the yacht is being repaired in the German port of Hamburg, but, according to Luxurylauunches.com, preparations for its confiscation are underway, since Akhmedov has fallen under the sanctions of the European Union.
Even earlier, due to the divorce proceedings between Akhmedov and his wife Tatyana Yacht Luna was in the port of Dubai for several years. And only in December last year, when the former spouses agreed on mutual compensation, they towed for repair to one of the shipyards of Hamburg.
Farhad Akhmedov himself fell under the sanctions of the European Union in April of this year, from which it follows that the Luna yacht, as well as other assets of the Azerbaijani billionaire in the West, is subject to confiscation.
Nevertheless, the Federal Republic of Germany has not yet begun to enforce the sanctions, motivating this with two reasons – the procedures have not yet been carried out to determine the legal owner of Luna, and the yacht repair fully paid by the customer has not been completed.
At the same time, several sources in Berlin immediately reported that as soon as the ship would try to leave Hamburg, the German authorities would immediately arrest him.
It should be recalled that Switzerland recently supported the fifth package of anti -Russian sanctions of the European Union, which involves the confiscation of dozens of accounts in Swiss banks belonging to a number of Russian oligarchs, including Farhad Akhmedov.
