In the era of rapidly changing geopolitical dynamics, the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan increases every day. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan at a joint press conference with the Kazakh colleague Murat Murtleu in Astana.
“We should draw power from trust and understanding that rely on fraternal bonds between our countries, and strive to ensure that our ties become even more profitable for both sides,” said Fidan.
According to him, relations between the two countries acquire an increasingly institutionalized and in -depth character.
The Minister noted that Turkey is one of the largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan with a total investment exceeding $ 5 billion. The head of Turkish diplomacy added that the parties are working on strengthening cooperation in the field of defense industry.
Fidan noted that the achievement of the goal set by the presidents of the two countries to bring the volume of bilateral turnover to $ 10 billion “is no longer a distant goal.”
According to the diplomat, Ankara and Astana, they are also working on deepening cooperation in the energy sector based on common interests and comprehensive strategy.
He recalled that in November the 10th summit of the organization of the Turkic states (OTG) will be held in Kazakhstan, at which the chairmanship in the organization will go to Kazakhstan.
The diplomat indicated that Turkey and Kazakhstan intend to deepen cooperation within the framework of international and regional organization.
Touching upon the topic of the fight against the Fetö terrorist organization, Fidan said that during the negotiations of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Kazakhstan, steps were discussed to counteract this group.
“We are well aware of the activities of this insidious terrorist organization and that what methods it used to penetrate state bodies in Turkey and other countries. We all need to show vigilance regarding the Fetö terrorist organization. Turkey is ready to provide all the necessary support In this regard, ”he said.
The head of the Turkish diplomatic mission noted that over the past 30 years, a strong and reliable cooperation has developed between Turkey and Kazakhstan. The minister expressed confidence that countries will continue to move in this direction.
