Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Turkey is determined to ensure independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the ancient homeland of Tatar Turks, Crimea.
Fidan made a statement at the Conferences to Improve Ukraine 2023, which takes place in the capital of Great Britain London.
Minister Fidan began his speech with the gratitude of England and Ukraine for organizing this event.
“Turkey is determined to ensure independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the ancient homeland of Tatar Turks, Crimea,” said the Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan.
He noted that the position of Turkey, as always, remains fundamental and decisive. Fidan emphasized that Turkey supports Ukraine, which has encountered the destructive economic consequences of the war.
Minister Fidan continued his presentation with the following words:
“President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tirelessly is working to relieve suffering caused by the war in Ukraine. This is reflected from the grain transaction to the exchange of prisoners of war. Now we need to develop a financial basis that will contribute to the sustainable restoration and revival of Ukraine.”
– Turkish contractors are involved in 50 projects in Ukraine
Fidan said that Turkey is one of the countries playing a leading role in the restoration of Ukraine: “Since the beginning of the war, Turkish contractors in Ukraine have been participating in 50 projects worth $ 3.2 billion.”
noting that at this time, Turkish contractors continue to work on 29 projects in Ukraine: “We will continue to encourage our business people and contractors to work for the people of Ukraine, no matter how difficult conditions are.”
Fidan recalled that on August 18, 2022, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the field of restoration of the country was signed between President Erdogan and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky: “Turkey will direct all its knowledge and experience to these issues to help Ukraine again get to their feet “.
Turkey is a country that provides the greatest humanitarian assistance regarding national income: “We will mobilize all the funds at our disposal. We will support the reconstruction and restoration of Ukraine, supplementing what we have done so far.”
“Conference on the improvement of Ukraine 2023”, jointly organized by the UK and Ukraine, is a continuation of annual events in Lugano, the last of which took place on July 4-5 last year in Switzerland.
