In Azerbaijan, the implementation of the project “Socio-economic development of low-income local population and internally displaced persons in the South Caucasus” continues. It is held jointly by the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) with the support of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, the press service of the State Committee said.
As part of this project on the occasion of the International Struggle for the Elimination of Violence against Women in Bard and Mingychevir, a public discussion and a forum-theater dedicated to the UN campaign “16 days of activism against gender violence”.
In events held in settlements where forced immigrants temporarily settled, representatives of the State Committee and Gİz, as well as local residents and experts, took part. After the discussions of the State Committee, representatives of the State Committee handed over a computer kit and 154 copies of books Library of the village of Galichylar, Agdam district.
Then, in a village built for the families of forced immigrants in Mingiachevir, they organized the forum-theater “paint the world orange.” The purpose of the two performances was to attract the attention of the public to the issue of gender violence.
