Finland announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of about 200 million euros and promised further defense cooperation with Kiev.
Finland Minister Anti Edward Khakkanen signed a memorandum of understanding during a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustema Umarov in the capital of Helsinki.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Khakkanen noted the presence of “wide political support and national unity” regarding the help of Ukraine and said that they divide the “look of Kyiv at the Russian threat.”
The Minister said that a package of assistance in the amount of about 200 million euros includes “extremely necessary” artillery ammunition, and promised further cooperation with Ukraine in the field of defense.
He stated that the war against Russia made the Armed Forces of Ukraine “one of the strongest in Europe”, adding that relations between Helsinki and Kiev in the field of defense are “not one -sided.”
Affirming that Ukraine has accumulated “rich experience” in defense from Russia, Hakkanen said: “It is obvious that we need to carefully listen to Ukraine’s teachings and use its experience in the development of our own defense.”
“Finland is a reliable partner who has a significant contribution not only to the security of Ukraine, but also to the safety of all Europe,” wrote Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umarov on the social network X.
Memorandum of understanding aimed at deepening defense cooperation between the administrations of Helsinki and Kyiv, covers the production of defense equipment, including ammunition, exploration exchange and innovation.
