Russia can stop supplying gas to Finland already on Friday, May 13, as a response to the country’s entry into NATO, writes the Finnish publication Iltalehti.
“Key politicians warned of the response actions of Russia in connection with the desire of Finland to join NATO,” the publication reports.
According to the chairman of the parliamentary group of the True Finns party, Ville Tavio, Finland policies are informed about various versions of the possible countermeas of the Russian Federation to enter Finland into NATO. The same information was confirmed by the deputy Harry Harkimo.
Finland must pay for the supply of Russian gas until May 23, Russia requires payment to be made in rubles, they have not yet given consent to Helsinki.
