Finland may confiscate property of Russians

Finland authorities consider the possibility of confiscating the property of Russian citizens if it is in the areas critical for the security of the country. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Finland Anti Kikekonen, writes Moscow Times.

“Yes, this is also possible if the real risk is identified and sufficient reasons are presented. The tool also exists for this,” he explained. The head of the defense department did not explain at what stage of development this restriction is located, but confirmed that the right of a “predominant purchase” has already been used several times.

Anti Kaikkonen promised to introduce a law to the parliament of the country that will tighten real estate transactions for citizens of countries that are not part of the European Union.
