First Classes Took Place At Turkish-Azerbaijan University

At the Turkish-Azerbaijan University (Tau), created in Baku on the initiative of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the first classes were held.

Tau began his activities in partnership with Azerbaijan Technical University, Middle Eastern Technical University (ODTü), Istanbul Technical University (İTü) and Hajettepe University.

The first university students were met by teachers who informed about the activities of the department and educational graphics.

University students also got acquainted with the faculty and administrative staff.

86 students will study computer engineering with the support of ODTü, industrial engineering with the support of ̇Tü and food engineering with the support of the University of Hajettepe.

On February 19, 2024, in Ankara between the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and the Council of Higher Education of the Turkish Republic (Yök), the Memorandum of understanding of the creation of the Turkish-Azerbaijani University (TAU) was signed. Signatures under the document were put in the presence of President Erdogan and President Aliyev.

The purpose of the project is to train qualified personnel and the unification of the research potential of both countries.

Turkish-Azerbaijan University, where the programs of undergraduate and magistracy of famous Turkish universities, defined by Yök will be implemented, will appeal to foreign students as a new model of higher education.
