The first country of the European Union is lowering the “Iron Curtain” for Russian citizens, without waiting for a decision on the seventh package of sanctions, where a number of European countries offer to include a ban on issuing visas.
The Russian Moscow Times, citing ERR, reports that the Estonian authorities, who have already announced that they will not let Russians in the Estonian Schengen visas intend to expand the restrictions issued in other countries. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Weiko Komusaar.
According to him, the initiative will be formalized before the end of the current week, the government does not see obstacles to its implementation.
EU agreements allow forbidden to prohibit the entry of visas issued by other countries, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs URAMA Reinsau.
The exception will be made only for Russians who visit relatives in Estonia, or have a long -term residence permit, as well as diplomats, employees of transport companies and persons who meet the criteria for obtaining humanitarian visas.
Estonia previously stopped issuing to citizens of the Russian Federation temporary types of residence and training visas, and also introduced restrictions on short -term employment.
