In Azerbaijan, the first domestic laser weapon Fireforce was developed, which is represented at the 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2024) in Baku.
This weapon, produced under the auspices of the Azersilah holding, which belongs to the Ministry of Defense Industry, is completely manufactured by local engineers.
FireForce weighs 900 kilograms and is able to hit targets at a distance of one kilometer. The weapon has an output capacity of 30 kilowatts and is designed to defeat ground, air and marine targets.
FireForce developer Valekh Arifzade told Anadola that the development of this weapon took only two months.
He noted that the new laser weapon is more compact compared to the analogues.
“We easily placed it on a light armored car. Laser systems are usually influenced by moisture, dust and steam, which leads to power loss. However, in our case there are no such problems,” added Arifzade.
According to him, at present, FireForce has a range of one kilometer, but plans to increase this indicator to ten kilometers.
“Over time, we will develop our weapons. It was completely produced in the country, all the details were made by us. The patent also belongs to our state,” he concluded.
