The first floating solar power plant in Turkey in the province of Elazyg will begin production in June.
This was reported in the 9th regional department of water resources of Turkey (DSİ) in the elasy-
The floating SES “body” with a capacity of 1 megavatts is installed on the Keban reservoir near the village of Fatmala Vennoe Beeshler.
floating SES, coupled with a ground SES with a capacity of 2 megavatts installed next to the body of the body pump, will produce electricity for irrigation of about 4.7 thousand hectares of land in seven villages on the shore of Lake Keban.
Investments are aimed at gaining benefits from renewable solar energy and reducing the cost of electricity used by farmers for land irrigation.
The first floating SES of Turkey will allow 1 million 806 thousand kilowatts of energy hours per year.
floating SES along with SES with a capacity of 2 megawatts installed on an area of 15 thousand square meters. meters on land, the need will cover about about 40 percent of the energy used for irrigation of about 4.7 thousand hectares of the Earth.
The head of the 9th regional DSİ Sebahattin Shamja told the Anadolu agency that the purpose of the project was to reduce the cost of electricity used by local farmers.
According to him, after the project was implemented, the issue of installing floating SES began to be discussed in other provinces of Turkey. The initiative received support at the legislative level, from now on the installation of SES near lakes and dams, the head of the department said.
“One of the first terrestrial SES in Turkey was also installed on the body. Our goal is also to compare the energy production of a terrestrial solar power station and a floating solar power plant and conduct a preliminary analysis of the projects that we will implement in the future,” said Shamjs.
According to him, the cost of floating SES is slightly higher than terrestrial ones, but energy production is the first to be about 15 percent more.
“In addition, if for 1 megavatt of a ground solar power station it is necessary to take 15 thousand square meters of the territory, then the floating SES can be placed on an area of 6 thousand square meters,” he said.
Shamji said that as part of the project of the floating SES on the surface of the water, 1840 panels were laid, about 25 percent of the surface area of this system is in contact with water.
He said that it is planned to build a 3 megavatts floating station on the body, after its commissioning, the annual income will be about 17 million lire, he said.
“Thanks to the new floating SES with a capacity of 3 Megavatts, which will be built next to the existing floating SES, about 80 percent of the energy consumed by the body of the body will be provided,” the Director of the Office explained.
“This project will become the future of Turkey. Our farmers in the future can easily grow all types of cultures with the support of the state,” he said.
