The Fund for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan creates the first museum dedicated to the history of Jadidism in the Hovlovo Hovli house in Bukhara, the Foundation press service said.
built in the 1860-1870s and located in the Gavian Madrasah quarter, the house belonged to the famous intellectual, enlightener and one of the leaders of Central Asian jadidism, Usmankhod Pulatkhodzhaeva.
“It was in this house that one of the first new -mixed schools was opened, where students taught their native language, mathematics, history, geography and other subjects in accordance with the modern system of education,” the report said.
In a well -preserved old part of the house, it is planned to carry out the necessary restoration work, as well as the reconstruction of new buildings.
The museum will include a new exposition consisting of manuscripts and personal objects of representatives of Jadidism, as well as a specially created multimedia system that reveals the history of Jadidism.
At the museum, it is planned to create a research center for the study of the cultural heritage of the Jadids. For scientists, materials and archives that provide all conditions for scientific activity will be available.
One of the initiators of the creation of the Timurkhodzh Pulatkhodzhaev Museum, the son of Usmankhodi Pulatkhodzhaev, will transmit the library, including ancient valuable manuscripts, as well as an extensive collection of modern literature, to the Fund of the future museum.
