First president of Iran died

Former Ayatollah Homney’s companion, First President of Iran Abolhasan Banisndra died at the age of 88 in France, reports Tasnim.

Banisdra, who lived to the Iranian revolution and taught in Paris, returned to the country together with Homney in 1979 and held high posts in the transitional government of Iran.

With the support of Khomeini in January 1980, he was elected first president of Iran, but soon the relationship with his supreme leader was spoiled, and he was presented with impeachment.

Banisdra fled to France, where he lived until his death and actively opposed the Islamic regime.
