First round of political consultations between Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and Australia took place in Baku

In Baku, the first round of political consultations was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Australia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mamedov, the delegation of Australia – deputy secretary of the development group, multilateral and European group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Rod Brayser.

During political consultations, a discussion of the current state of relations between the two countries and the prospects for the development of cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other areas was held.

Mamedov informed in detail the opposite side of the current situation in the region in the post -conflict period, recovery and construction work carried out in the territories liberated from the occupation, as well as the process of clearance.

It was emphasized that the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held this year in Azerbaijan, creates favorable opportunities for expanding bilateral relations.

The meeting also discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
