The first summit of the leaders of China and the five Turkic republics of Central Asia as part of the “C+C5” mechanism will be held on May 18-19.
This was reported by the official representative of the China Foreign Ministry Hua Chunin. The venue of the event will be the city of Sien in the Northern Chinese Province of Sheanxi.
The summit, which will be accepted by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev, President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zadarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev will come to the summit.
The summit will be the first meeting in the format of cooperation “C+C5” between China and the Turkic republics of Central Asia at the level of heads of state.
The first meeting within the framework of the “C+C5” mechanism at the level of foreign ministers of China and the Turkic republics of Central Asia took place in 2020.
Then, foreign ministers met on May 12, 2021 in China and June 8, 2022 in Kazakhstan.
The fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of China and the countries of Central Asia took place on April 27 in Sian. At the meeting, it was decided to hold a summit of leaders in Sian in May.
