Iraq’s Ministry of Health recorded a flash of cholera in the province of Suleimania located in the north of the country, Rudaw TV channel reports citing a statement by the representative of the department of the al-Badara.
According to him, at present, 13 cases of infection are recorded in Iraq, of which 10 are on the province of Suleimania. At the same time, he noted that there are probably more sick than diagnosed cases, since the medical authorities have just begun to examine patients with symptoms characteristic of cholera.
A large flash of cholera in Iraq was last recorded in 2015. Then, due to the lack of clean drinking water, more than two thousand people infected cholera.
