Flight passengers Yerevan – Istanbul – Yerevan, launched as part of the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey, will be exempt from the so-called air tax. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of Civil Aviation (GOGA) of Armenia.
According to information, the benefits are provided to airlines that open up new directions that were not serviced over the past 12 months. Istanbul became one of the 17 directions operating on which airlines are exempt from air tax for three years. The amount of fee from passengers is included in the ticket price.
Turkish company Pegasus Airlines will begin to carry out charter flights Istanbul – Yerevan – Istanbul. In the first week of February two flights are scheduled – 2 and 5 February. From February 7 to March 27, the Turkish carrier will perform three flights a week (Monday, Thursday and Saturday). Flyone Armenia’s Armenian Airline will be carried out in Turkish Megapolis – from February 2, twice a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays. From April it is planned to increase the number of flights up to three times a week (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
