Food Security Agency, UNICEF and Ministry of Education launched a joint project

Azerbaijan Institute for Food Safety In the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of UNICEF and the Ministry of Education, launched a pilot project “Guide to schoolchildren nutrition”.

At the briefing for journalists, representatives of the Food Safety Agency, UNICEF and the Ministry of Education were attended. During the briefing, media representatives were informed in detail about the objectives of the project and the methodology for its implementation. It was noted that the seminar on 12 topics for the participants of the project “Schoolboy’s friend” (initially 30 people) will be held online by online food security agency specialists. The subjects of the seminar are developed taking into account knowledge and skills, as well as mechanisms for controlling buffets and dining rooms operating in secondary schools, in the field of food safety, healthy nutrition, as well as fulfillment of the requirements for the prevention of COVID-19 propagation.

At the end of the seminars, participants successfully surrendered the exam will be awarded the “Guide for Schoolchildren’s Guide”. Thanks to this badge, these individuals will exercise public control over the work of buffets and dining rooms in schools where they work, as well as in compliance with the parties to the rules of food safety and sanitary standards. At the same time, in the canteens, toilets and other public places of schools that they represent, training banners will be placed, and printed materials will be provided with students.

It is noted that the pilot project is being implemented in order to expand and improve educational work in the direction of ensuring a more effective organization of food safety for the protection of life and public health, according to the implementation of the “State Food Security Program in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2025″ and UNICEF programs ” Health and nutrition in Azerbaijan at 2021-2022. “

In general, within the framework of the project provided for in the 3rd stage, after the completion of educational topics it is planned to conduct a survey among schoolchildren, and on the basis of the analysis of the results of the project will be made proposals for its widespread use.
