The State Duma of Russia has amended the law on failure to appear for military service or desertion during the period of mobilization or wartime, according to which up to 10 years of imprisonment is planned.
The authors of the corresponding amendment are the deputies Valery Piskarev and Leonid Slutsky, as well as Senator Andrey Klishas.
Amendments emphasize that citizens who are in stock are criminal for committing crimes in accordance with the article provided for by the law, which is intended for military personnel undergoing military service under the contract.
