For first time in 13 years: Israeli Foreign Minister goes to Egypt

Sunday, May 30, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabi Ashkenazi leaves on an official visit to Cairo. NEWSRU.CO.IL writes that during the negotiations, issues of bilateral relations between Egypt and Israel will be discussed, as well as the ability to achieve a long-term cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Edition notes that over the past 13 years, this is the first official visit of the Head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Egypt.

In parallel with the visit of Ashkenazi to Egypt, the head of Egyptian intelligence Abbas Kamale arrives in Egypt to Israel. He will hold negotiations with representatives of the Israeli political leadership and power structures, and will also visit Ramalla and Gaza, where he will meet with the managers of Fatah and Hamas.
