Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Forced Migrants Fuad Huseynov made a lecture for specialists of 21 foreign cerebral centers and academic institutions and diplomats on the topic “Long-term forced resettlement and long-awaited return.” The lecture was held at a session organized jointly by the University of Hell and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the Caspian Basin Research Program,
Fuad Huseynov informed the participants about the unreasonable territorial claims of Armenia against Azerbaijan, deportation and occupation policy. He noted that as a result of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, thousands of our compatriots were doomed to the lives of refugees and forced immigrants in difficult conditions.
He also described in detail about the state policy held under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of working with refugees and internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan, and it was noted that the solution of the problems of this category of people is one of the priorities of the social policy of the head of state. The first vice president of Mehriban Aliyev also exhibits special care and attention to people in exile from the native land.
During the lecture, new realities arose after the victory in the Patriotic War were affected. The decree of the head of state was created by the Karabakh and East-Zangezur Economic Areas, and one of the main tasks facing the Azerbaijani state is the restoration and provision of sustainable development of liberated territories, as well as the return of forced displaced persons in their place of permanent residence, which is an important contribution to stability Region. A large return was reflected in the program “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities of Socio-Economic Development”, as one of the main strategic priorities for the economic development of our country.
It was noted that at present, security measures are being taken on the territories liberated from occupation, gigantic infrastructure projects are being implemented, the priority of projects “Smart Village”, “Smart City”.
In conclusion, it was noted that the Azerbaijani state will present the world a new exemplary model both in the area of solving problems of refugees and internally displaced persons and on the rehabilitation of post-conflict period and the reintegration of former displaced immigrants on native lands.
