Foreign Minister Cote-D’Ivoire Emphasized Importance Of Dialogue Between Countries

Cat-d’Ivoire does not intend to break up relations with partner states. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Leon Kaku Ada at the 4th diplomatic forum in Antalya.

In an interview with anadol correspondent, hell noted that the statement of US President Donald Trump about the possible introduction of mutual duties caused concern in the cat -d’Ivoire – the largest world manufacturer.

However, according to him, these fears decreased after the duties were suspended by 90 days.

“We have time to together with our American partners to make the necessary adjustments and minimize the consequences,” the minister said.

Adom emphasized that the key element of foreign policy of the cat-d’Ivoire is openness to negotiations and dialogue.

“For us, the dialogue is the most important tool. We are sure that it is through the dialogue that we can come to mutual understanding,” he said.

Touching relations with France,

“We are not talking about a break with France”

“In the Cote -D’Ivoire, there was never a break of the breaks with partners. Our, perhaps, is the only” drawback ” – this is fidelity to our friendly relations,” the minister said commenting on relations with France.

“As you could understand from my words, we are not talking about the cessation of cooperation with France. On the contrary, we are talking about its continuation – perhaps in a new format. The main thing is – to what point we will come together,” the minister added, emphasizing that France remains a friend of D’Ivoir.

Adom also commented on the probability of the return of the Alliance of the Sahel states (AES), including Mali, Burkina-Faso and Niger, to the economic community of West African states (Ekovas).
