France advocates that Syria becomes a “sovereign, stable and peaceful” country. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro during a visit to Damascus, the French media reports.
According to him, the hope for this is “real, but fragile.”
His German colleague Annalena Berobok also visited the Syrian capital. In his account on the social network, X Barro noted that “France and Germany support the Syrian people in all its diversity.”
The minister added that Paris and Berlin are striving to “contribute to the peaceful and complex transition that will serve the interests of the Syrian people”.
As part of the Barro visit and the delegation accompanying it, the Sednaya prison was visited by Damascus, known as one of the torture centers of the overthrown regime of Bashar al -Assad.
The BAAS party, which ruled in Syria 61, collapsed on December 8, 2024. Following this, a transition government was formed in the country.
