Türkiye is still the largest trading partner of Georgia. This was stated by the Head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Ilya Darchiashvili at a joint press conference with the Turkish colleague Hakan Fidan in Ankara.
According to him, the corresponding structures of Georgia and Turkey intend to continue intensive interaction in order to fully realize the potential of bilateral relations.
The minister noted that Ankara and Tbilisi are associated with a long -standing story of friendly relations and strategic partnership.
The head of the department said that during the negotiations, the heads of the foreign policy departments of Turkey and Georgia exchanged opinions on topical issues, and also outlined specific steps to expand cooperation.
Darchiashvili emphasized the significance of high -level contacts between the two countries. According to him, the parties reached an agreement to continue steps to organize mutual visits of the leaders of the two countries.
Ilya Darchiashvili invited the Turkish Foreign Minister to visit Turkey.
The Minister expressed the gratitude of Turkey for the support of “sovereignty, territorial integrity and foreign policy priorities of Georgia.”
The diplomat emphasized that Georgia attaches great importance to relations with Turkey.
